The work Umbre II (Shadows II) tries to associate and disassociate several meanings of the word 'shadow', traditionally understood as a symbol of opposition to light, as well as an image of the passing of unreal, changeable, and unstable things. In some traditional cultures, the shadow is also connected with death. The absence of a shadow means 'purity' and 'inner peace'. Its presence brings the coexistence of the opposites. Umbre II was written for the 'Pro Contemporania' Trio, which is made up of three talented, sensitive and open-minded musicians: Irinel Anghel, Ladislau Csendes and Andrei Kivu.
