Born in Niedomice, she studied composition
and theory of music with Bogusław Schaeffer at the State
Higher School of Music in Cracow. She graduated with
distinction in 1972. Her pieces have won awards at the
Grzegorz Fitelberg Composer's Competition (Transformations)
and the Youth Competition of the Polish Composers' Union (Il
pi» et il meno). She was a member of the Artistic Society
Cracow Group'.
Her pieces have been performed at the iscm World Music Days
in Stockholm (1978). In 1977 in the Krzysztofory' Gallery in
Cracow organized a concert devoted exclusively to her music,
combined with an exhibition of her scores.
She has a particular affinity with the sonoristic structures
derived from the instrumental material transformed
electronically or in a live performance.
The composition Altitude 1 was realised at
the Computer Music Studio of the Academy of Music in Cracow
(2001). I want to thank Magdalena Długosz for her help in
realising this piece.
