Born in 1961 in Warsaw, he studied composition with Włodzimierz Kotoński and piano improvisation with Szabolcs Esztényi at the Music Academy in Warsaw. He has participated in courses for composers in Darmstadt, Kazimierz-Dolny, Patras and Dartington. In 1986-87 he studied electronic music and misi systems in London thanks to a grant from Witold Lutosławski.
He is a prizewinner of the Young Composers' Competition organized by the Polish Composers' Union (1988) and the National Composition Competition for a Piece for Classical Guitar (1995).
He collaborates with the Polish Radio Experimental Studio. He also writes incidental music for the theatre and film music. He lives and works in Warsaw as a free-lance composer.

Selected works: Turdus musicus for amplified harpsichord (1984), Interludium for piano (1986), Androvanda for guitar (1986), Night Sounds for tenor saxophone and digital delay (1987), Lumen for choir and orchestra (1987), Somnus for tape (1988), Movement II for double-bass and tape (1992), Missa brevis for choir and brass quintet (1992), Trees for alto saxophone and tape (1992), Tritonos for harpsichord and tape (1993), Sea Wind for clarinet or soprano saxophone and piano (1994), One Jubilee Rag for clarinet, trombone, cello and piano (1995), Hyacinth Girl for soprano and tape (1995), Nonstrom for clarinet, trombone, cello and piano (1996), Gagliarda for string quartet (1996), Concerto per sassofono soprano e archi (1996), Bending Light for soprano, also saxophone and piano (1997), Postludium for violin, cello and piano (1998), Study of an Object for piano for four hands (1999), Ad Naan for cello and computer sound-processing (2002).

Ad Naan was written in the summer of 2002. It is dedicated to Andrzej Bauer.
