Piotr Rafałko is a graduate of the Music
Academy in Warsaw where he studied with Kazimierz Pustelak.
He participated in master classes given by Ernst Haefliger,
Sylvia Geszta and Mariana Nicolesco. He is a prizewinner of
the vocal competitions in Duszniki-Zdrój (Poland) and
Braila (Romania).
He has taken part in numerous music competitions in Poland
and abroad. In 1999 he inaugurated, together with Ewa Podleć
and Cyprien Katsaris, the 38th Festival in Łańcut, with
the performance of Gustav Mahler's The Song of the Earth. He
sang the title role in Monteverdi's La favola d'Orfeo during
the 1st Europäische Herbstakademie.
He has a broad repertoire of oratorios and cantatas
comprising works by Beethoven, Berlioz, Dvorzak, Händel,
Haydn, Mozart, Orff, Rossini and Verdi.
In 2000 Piotr Rafałko sang Edrisi in Szymanowski's King
Roger produced by the Grand Theatre - National Opera of
Warsaw. |
