Daniel Hoffmann studied trumpet and horn at the Conservatory in Weimar. Since 1987 he has been a member of various jazz formations. He won First Prize at the International Jazz Workshops in Weimar (1991). In 1993 he became a member of the Ensemble für Intuitive Musik Weimar. In 1994 he founded the international Festival 'Jazz-Meile Thüringen'.
Matthias von Hintzenstern studied cello and viola da gamba at the Conservatories in Weimar and Leipzig. He was one of the founding members of the Ensemble für Intuitive Musik Weimar in 1980. In the same year he became a soloist of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Gera. He held a grant from the Künstlerhaus in Boswil, Switzerland (1983). Since 1984 he has performed in many European countries. In 1992 he founded the Youth Chamber Orchestra 'Kühdorf'.
