Hans Tutschku joined the Ensemble für
Intuitive Musik Weimar in 1982. He began to study
electroacoustic music in Dresden, subsequently developing
his skills while accompanying Karlheinz Stockhausen in his
concert tours. He also attended a year-long course in
computer music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague,
focusing on digital signal processing, as well as workshops
with composers Klaus Huber and Brian Ferneyhough. In 1994-95
he studied at the ircam in Paris.
His compositional output includes pieces for tape, acoustic
instruments with tape and/or live electronics. He also
writes incidental music for the theatre as well as music for
film and ballet. He won several awards at international
competitions for composers.
In 1995-96 he was a professor of electroacoustic music at
the Liszt Conservatory in Weimar. Since 1997 he has taught
in the electronic studios of ircam. He gave master classes
in composition at the Universities of Sao Paulo and
Singapore, and at the Music Academy in Budapest. |
