Viola Łabanow studied cembalo at the F.
Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, graduating in 1985. She
was a prizewinner at the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk.
She continued her studies in Siena and Innsbruck, focusing
on baroque music, under the guidance of R. Gerlin, J.
Christensen, B. Rossi, N. North, J. Lange and W. Kuijken.
Since 1985 she has been a member of the Warsaw Chamber Opera
where she took part in preparing and presenting all the
stage works by Mozart. She also participated in the
festivals of Rossini's operas and baroque operas presented
by this opera house. She has participated in many festivals
including the Wratislavia Cantans', the Warsaw Autumn', the
Music Festival in Łałcut, the Festival Radio France in
Montpellier, Carintischer Sommer, the Mozart Festival in
Madrid, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, the Early Music Festival
in Warsaw, Al Bustan International, the Beirut Festival and
the Polish Cultural Festival in Canada.
Viola Łabanow has performed with many outstanding artists
and ensembles (M. Caudle, M. Wojciechowska, S. Standage,
Concerto Polacco, Il Tempo, Harmonia Parnassia, Musicae
Antique Collegium Varsoviense, Arte Dei Suonatori, Sinfonia
Varsovia). She is often invited by opera theatres in Poland
and abroad to prepare and perform continuo in baroque
operas. She took part in a cycle of tv programmes devoted to
baroque music produced by Dutch tv. Her performances have
been broadcast by many radio and tv stations, as well as
recorded on cd. |
