Was born in 1949 in Szczecin. He studied composition
with Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw (diploma
in 1972). Since his international debut at the Nordiske Musikdage in
Copenhagen in 1974, his works have been performed at many prestigious
festivals, including the OWarsaw Autumn1, iscm World Music Days,
OInventionen1 in Berlin, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, as well as
at numerous concerts in Europe, the United States and Canada.
As a teacher of composition, BagiYski has been associated with the Music
Academy in Warsaw since 1974. He has been in charge of
a composition class since 1989. He also teaches at the Drama Academy in
Warsaw. In 1996 he became a Professor of Music. In 198999 he served as
Secretary General of the Polish Composers1 Union.

cappella choir (1993), Small Elegiac Symphony (1995), Concerto for Cello
and String Orchestra (1995), Piano Concerto (1995), Flute Quintet (1997),
Liber belli et pacis for baritone, choir and orchestra (1999), Solo V for
clarinet (2001), A Few Pictures for orchestra (2001), Violin Concerto
(2002), Three Pieces for string orchestra (2002).
A Few Pictures is (at least) twelve short pieces, which
together form
a work lasting just under ten minutes. The manner in which the various
elements are joined can bring to mind fiddling with a TV remote control.
This kind of montage gives some fragments of the piece
a transitory and fleeting character.
