Born in O1awa in 1971, he studied composition with W1odzimierz KotoYski at the Music Academy in Warsaw (diploma in 1997). He made his OWarsaw Autumn1 debut at the age of 22, with La Strada. In 1995, his Polish Radio commission ­ 3 for 13 ­ was placed first in the under 30s-category at the International Composers1 Rostrum in Paris. In the same year, he received a OWarsaw Autumn1 commission (Eine kleine Herbstmusik featured in the programme of the 1995 event).
The following year his Polish Radio commission, Epiphora, won First Award in the category of young composers at the 4th International Rostrum of Electroacoustic Music in Amsterdam; in addition, it won one of the four nominations in the general category. Mykietyn is founder of, and clarinettist in, the Nonstrom Ensemble which specializes in the performance of contemporary music.

Symphonic Poem for large orchestra (2003).
Incidental music to some 30 theatre productions in Warsaw, PoznaY, Tokyo, Milan, Zagreb, Beer-Sheva and Stuttgart.
The piece 3 for 13 was written in 1994 to a commission from Polish Radio, Programme 2. The premiere took place in June 1995 with Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Jerzy Maksymiuk. Later that year 3 for 13 gained first place at the unesco International Composers1 Rostrum in Paris, in the category for young composers (under 30). The composition is dedicated to Andrzej Ch1opecki.
