Studied composition from a young age in Halle, then she continued in Dresden (with Udo Zimmermann) and in Berlin. She worked as a teacher in Germany and South America. She won several awards including the Hanns Eisler Prize and Heidelberg Artists1 Prize. She is also a co-founder of the French-German ensemble Compagnie de Quatre. Her opera TagNachtTraumstaub (DayNightDreamDust) ­ written in co-operation with French sculptor Daniel Depoutot ­ was presented at expo 2000 in Hanover.
Annette Schlünz composed almost 50 works (solo, chamber and orchestral) for both acoustic and electronic instruments.
