Belongs to the best known Belgian singers. As
a soloist of the OOpera voor Vlaanderen1 she sang Salome in Strauss1s opera, Maria in Berg1s Wozzeck and Kundra in Parsifal. She also took part in numerous productions of the classical and romantic operas ­ some of them were broadcast by national and foreign radio and tv stations, few appeared on cd. She regularly appears on the concert platform, working with such conductors as Marc Minkovsky, Stefan Sotltesz, Elgar Howarth, Hans Zender, Arturo Tamayo and Seiji Ozawa.
Mireille Capelle often performs contemporary music ­ with the Antwerpen ensemble Ochamp d1Action1, conducted by Koen Kessels, she sang Pascal Dusapin1s Cemedia in Brasilia (August 1998), and in November of the same year she appeared at the festival in Huddersfield, taking part in the performance of George Crumb1s Ancient Voices of Children.
She has also performed works by Cage, Donatoni, Berio, Kagel, Huber, Ligeti (Le Grand Macabre), Górecki (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs), Younghi Pagh-Paan (title role in her opera Oedipus, performed at Berliner Festwochen under M. Gielen) and Michael Nyman.
