Born in Lyon, studied saxophone at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris gaining a diploma with First Prize. In 1988­97 he recorded with l1Orchestre Français des Jeunes conducted by R. Krivine, as well as with C. Delangle (OThe Russian Saxophone1). In 1996
he moved to Great Britain, where
he lived until 2002.
He divides his time between concert and teaching activities. He performs solo and with OArcanes1 Quartet (with V. David, G. Demar-sy, E. Fagant) and teaches in Cam-bridge. In 1997 he won Second Prizes in the international competitions OPacem In Terris1 in Bayreuth and the Young Musician Platform in Birmingham.
>From September 2002 he has been a Professor at the Limoges Conservatory.

ensemble court-circuit was founded in 1991 by the composer Philippe Hurel and the conductor Pierre-André Valade. The idea was to bring together a group of high-calibre musicians not only for their virtuosity but also their genuine interest and experience in the performance of contemporary music.
The Ensemble has given first peformances of pieces by many prominent composers including Tristan Murail, Michaël Jarrell, Philippe Leroux, Martin Matalon, Philippe Hurel, Mauro Lanza, Cecilia Ore, Knut Vaage, Christoph Saude, Daniel D1Adamo, Alexandros Markéas, Joshua Fineberg, Roger Reynolds, Jean-Luc Hervé, and Lucia Ronchetti. It has been invited by major European festivals and music institutions, such as ircam and Cité de la Musique in Paris, the Festival in Aix-en-Provence, O38e Rugissants1 in Grenoble, and festivals in Reggio-Emilia, Witten, Darmstadt, Bergen, Helsinki, Trondheim, Strasbourg (OMusica1),Oslo (OUltima1), Tallin (ONyyd1), Vilnius (OGaida1), and Vienna (OWien Modern1). It is now finalizing work on a cd featuring works by several composers in tribute to Grisey.
court-circuit, working jointly with the Norwegian group OBit201 and the German OEnsemble Recherche1, has founded Project Foundation 3 in order to promote new music and exchange the repertoire between the three countries. It has made many recordings of pieces by Tristan Murail, Pierre Leroux, Thierry Blondeau, Gérard Grisey, Daniel D1Adamo, Philippe Hurel, Joshua Fineberg and Martin Matalon.
court-circuit receives support from sacem, the French Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs, as well as spedidam.
