born in 1977 in Warsaw, she studied the piano at the
Kurpiński State Primary Music School (1985–90) and then at the Chopin
Secon-dary Music School (diploma with distinction in 1997). In
1998–2003 she studied composition with Krystyna Moszumańska-Nazar at
the Music Academy in Kraków. In 1999 she commenced a parallel course in
computer music in the class of Magdalena Długosz. She participated in
several international courses for composers organized under the auspices of
new music centres ircam/acanthes in Kraków and Helsinki (2000), in Buckow
(Germany, 2001), as well as in the Internationale Sommer Akademie
Prag–Wien–Budapest (2002). In 2003 she stayed in the United
States within the framework of a student exchange programme between Central
Washington University and the Music Academy in Kraków.
She won First Prize at the ‘EuroArt Meeting’ Composers’
Compe-tition in Wrocław for her piece High3bbing.Nor (April 2000). In 2004
she was nominated for the ‘Passport’ award of the
‘Polityka’ weekly.
Her works have been performed in Poland (including the ‘Warsaw Autumn’
in 2001 and 2003) and in Holland, Germany and Slovakia.
