born in Wroc³aw, she studied composition with Zygmunt Herembeszta in the Academy of Music in Wroc³aw (diploma in 1981). She has taken part in international workshops and courses for composers in Olsztyn (1978), Wenecja near Bydgoszcz (1979), Kazimierz Dolny (1983) and Wzdów (1991). Her works have been performed at the Contemporary Music Festival in Wroc³aw, the Poznań Musical Spring, the ‘Young Musicians for a Young City’ Festival in Stalowa Wola and numerous concerts in Wroc³aw, including the one devoted exclusively to her music (1997). She has won one prize and two honourable mentions at composers’ competitions.

Principal works (since 1990): Con moto for string orchestra (1990–91); String Trio (1994); Constans for piano (1996); Summer Improvisation (1996); Several Thoughts for clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet and trombone (1997); Autumn Piece for clarinet, trombone, cello and piano (1997); Poco a poco for strings (1998), Phrases to Zbyszek for viola, marimba and kettledrum (1998), Poem for string orchestra (1998–99), Returning quint for string orchestra (1999–2000), A Suspended Chord for two pianos (2001), Agitato determinato for marimba (2002), In an Un-dertone for violin, cello, piano and clarinet (2004).

In an Undertone was commissioned by the ‘Warsaw Autumn’ for the Nordlys Ensemble. It was completed in 2004.
