Pawe³ Nowicki is a graduate
of the percussion class at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz. He subsequently
studied with Emmanuel Séjourné at the Music Conserva-tory in Strasbourg.
He is a prize-winner of the International Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition
(1999) and the 1st International Vibraphone Com-petition in Clermont-Ferrand
(1999).
He has given solo concerts and masterclasses at the Contemporary Art Museum
in Luxembourg, and has performed in a duo with Antoine Cure, the trumpeter
and soloist of Ensemble InterContem-porain, and as a member of Percussion
Ensemble Mainz.
He has toured Portugal, Italy, Luxembourg and Germany with the European
Union Youth Wind Orchestra conducted by Jan Cober. His recent engagements
also include a multimedia performance in St John’s Church in Leipzig
with the avant-garde improvised music quartet Mazzoll Deffusion. He has made
recordings for radio and television stations. His repertoire includes both
classical and contemporary music. He often performs in
a duo with the pianist Piotr Nowicki and with the Kwartludium Ensemble.
