Jadwiga Rappé is one of Poland’s most
distinguished singers. She is a graduate of Warsaw University, where she
studied Slavonic languages. During her studies she began taking vocal
lessons with Zofia Brégy. She continued her vocal studies under Jerzy
Artysz. Her honours include First Prize at the International Bach
Competition in Leipzig. Her repertoire spans music of almost all periods,
from Baroque to Romantic and contemporary music. He also has an extensive
song repertoire. She has appeared with some of the world’s leading
conductors, such as Ricardo Chailly, Lorin Maazel Charles Dutoit, Leopold
Hager, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Seiji Ozawa, Sir Simon Rattle and Stanis³aw
Skrowaczewski. She has sung with, among others, the Wiener Philharmoniker,
the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington d.c., Hallé Orchestra, and
rias-Sinfonieorchester. In 2000 she started teaching at the Music Academy in
Warsaw. Her discography includes over 30 lps and cds.
