born in Czechowice-Dziedzice, graduated from the Karol
Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice where she studied with Henryka
Januszewska. Since 1990 she has performed with Camerata Silesia, with which
she has sung many solo parts, mainly in early and contemporary music, and
toured extensively at home and abroad. Several Polish composers have written
or dedicated pieces specially to her, including Krzysztof Baculewski (Chansons
romanesques & frivoles) and Stanisław Krupowicz (Miserere). Recent
highlights in her career have included performances in Camille Saint-SaĎns’s
Christmas Oratorio, Baculewski’s Chansons romanesques & frivoles,
Bach’s Magnificat (with Emma Kirkby), Arvo Pärt’s Miserere and
Andrzej Krzanowski’s Audycja iii (Programme iii) at the ‘Warsaw
Autumn’ in 2000, Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia (‘Warsaw Autumn’,
1999), Stanisław Krupowicz’s Christmas Oratorio (first performance,
‘Warsaw Autumn’, 1997) and Paweł Szymański’s Four
Liturgical Pieces (performed as part of ‘Meta-Mass’, the
inaugural concert of the 1996/97 ebu season organized by Polish Radio 2).
