She is a graduate this year
from the Music Academy in Poznań, where she studied composition with
Lidia Zielińska. She is a prizewinner of several competitions for
composers and performers, including the ‘Youth Forum’ National
Composers’ Competition in Warsaw (First Prize, 2000), the
‘Crescendo’ National Composers’ Competition in Tarnów (Third Prize,
1999), and the Competition for Performers of 20th-century Music in
Radziejowice (finalist, as pianist, 1999). She has received a prize from
the Mayor of Toruń (2000) and grants from the aukso Foundation (2004) and
the Ministry of Culture (2000, 2004). She has participated in numerous
courses and workshop, including the workshops of interactive music in Wrocław
(2005), the Bartok International Seminar in Szombathely, Hungary (2003),
the 9th International Contemporary Music Workshops Kraków-Stuttgart
(2002), the ‘Acanthes’ International Composition Course in
Villeneuve-les-Avignon (2002).
She gave a piano recital at the festival of contemporary music in Esbjerg,
Denmark (2004) and was a finalist of the ‘Kultursalon Hoerbiger’
international competition for composers and pianists in Vienna (2005).
She has taken an active part in the organization of various artistic
events, such as the ‘Interactions’ Festival in Poznań (2004) and the
International Interdisciplinary Conference The Human Voice as a Vehicle of
Expression (Poznań, 2002). She also gives lectures and talks on the use
of modern media in the creative process.

Legend for violin and electronic sounds (2001), Lacrimosa for female choir
(2001), Flower of the Gods for soprano, flute, bass clarinet, marimba,
guitar and tam-tam (2001), Ehwaz for five timpani and two percussionists
(2002), atnongara for solo piano (2002), anAphrase for violin and tape
(2003), how-who for voice and live electronics (2003), Gardens for tape
(2003), Liija for tape (2003), Anatta for percussion and piano (2004),
Hagalaz for clarinet, cello and piano (2004), ingwaz for ensemble (2005).
ingwaz is one of the 24 runes. It symbolizes the process of inner activity
protected by an external layer, which is seemingly static. Like an egg, it
matures in a protective shell. The power of ingwaz is like that of fire,
which can lie dormant but becomes almost unstoppable if ignited by a
breath of consciousness and its presence is revealed.
