he studied composition with Riccardo Vaglini at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, graduating with the highest mark. He also received a diploma in organ performance. He won several awards at competitions for performers and composers, including Concorso Nazionale d’Organo Citt± di Viterbo (1997), the Concorso di Composizione a.gi.mus. (1998), the Concorso Internazionale di Interpretazione ‘Franz Schubert’ (1999), the Competition of the Gaudeamus Foundation in Amsterdam (2002) and the Internationales Forum für Kultur und Wirtschaft in Dresden (2004). He took part in the Darmstadt Courses (2000–02), attending workshops with S. Sciarrino, T. Hosokawa,
O. Neuwirth, E. Nunes, M. Levinas, T. Murail, W. Rihm, S. Bussotti and Ensemble Resonanz.
He also attended the workshop in the interpretation of contemporary music with Z. Szathmáry. His works have been commissioned and performed by such ensembles as Holland Symphonia, Dresdner Sinfoniker, Young Janáèek Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica Veneta, Ensemble Vocal Modern, ixion ensemble, Vokalensemble Neue Musik Berlin, ensemble Aleph, Trio kaida (Amsterdam), astra Chamber Choir (Melbourne) and coroincanto (Treviso). They have been recorded for radio stations in the Netherlands, Belgrade, Melbourne and Britain (bbc).
Perocco’s music has been featured at numerous prestigious events including the Gaudeamus Music Week in Amsterdam, Aspekte in Salzburg, Time of Music in Viitasaari, Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte Contemporanea di Montepulciano, Zéppelin Festival in Barcelona, New London Wind Festival, the International Review of Composers in Belgrade, the Contemporary Music Festival in Melbourne and the Festival of Eelectroacoustic Music in Strasbourg.
Filippo Perocco is the founder and artistic director of the Venice-based ensemble L’Arsenale and one of the founders of the multiple keyboards ensemble Teclas.
He currently studies orchestral conducting with Emilio Pom±rico at the International Academy of Music in Milan.
